This is a pop up power outlet and charging USB box designed to be hidden in kitchen countertops, or any worktop surface that needs protection from liquids and spills. When in the closed position, the outlet sits recessed in the counter, creating a sleek and attractive appearance. Meets NEC Electrical Code 406.5E for Installation in Countertops

The pop up meets 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC) 406.5E for kitchen and wet location countertop installations in the USA and Canada. The outlet has tamper-proof plugs and is Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listed. The complete pop up unit is ETL listed for USA installations, and cETL and CSA approved for Canada installations. The top of the pop up features an IP44 spill proof water rating, and is splash-rated for wet location installations; there is also a gasket under the bezel to keep liquids from entering the sides between the countertop and the base of the pop up.

Easy to Install with a Threaded Nut and a 9′ Power Cord

The pop up requires a 4 1/8” x 4 1/8” hole to be cut for installation. To install, simply thread the included two screws from the cover to the back box, and thread the lock nut onto the plastic back box. The last step is to plug the end of the 9′ power cord into a GFCI outlet, or an outlet that is on a GFCI circuit. GFCI offers protection in the scenario that if the outlet recognizes an unsafe interruption in the current, it will automatically shut off power to the outlet.

Tamper Proof 20A Power Outlet and USB A and C Charging Ports

The pop up provides both a USB-A charging port, and a USB-C charging port. There is a smart chip inside the outlet making the USB intelligent charging ports. The ports automatically adapt to the device being plugged in, and send the maximum amount of power the device can handle, ensuring it won’t be over-charged.

The USB-A charging port is Quick Charge (QC) 3.0 rated and can provide up to 27 Watts of fast charging power. 

The USB-C charging port is QC 3.0 and Power Deliver (PD 2.0) rated, it can charge devices at an incredibly fast rate, up to 30 Watts. The PD 2.0 not only allows users to charge phones and tablets, but also laptops.

The outlet is 20 Amp rated, allowing the most power hungry small appliances to be plugged in. The plugs are tamper resistant (TR) meeting code, and offer the peace of mind knowing that children can’t put small objects into the sockets and electrocute themselves. The 20A outlet is backwards compatible with 15A plugs, meaning that both 15A plugs and 20A plugs, can be plugged into the outlet.

Use the pop up outlet to power up to two small appliances such as coffee makers, blenders, toaster ovens, warming trays, and other items. It can also be used for charging mobile devices such as tablets and phones via the two USB charging ports. Up to four devices can safely be plugged in at once. The pop up can be installed in granite, quartz, marble, wood, laminate, concrete, or any surface up to 1.9″ thick, where the required 4 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ hole can be cut.
